Welcome to Villa Estella

Villa Estella

Want to get away from it all and experience the authentic Cypriot village lifestyle without having to go halfway up a mountain and be within a short distance of all main tourist attractions and large supermarket?

Villa Estella is situated within the quiet traditional Cypriot village of Konia and is less than a 3-minute walk to the village taverna, coffee shop, bank and shop, yet only 5-minutes' drive to a supermarket the size of a Sainsbury's or a Tescos and the tourist area of Kato Paphos. Paphos Harbour, Paphos Old Town, Paphos Water Park and Coral Bay Town and Beach are only 10 to 20 minutes away by car.

This detatched luxury villa, sleeps 6 comfortably -- if there are more than 6 in your party, check out our link to its sister villa, Villa Sofira, at the bottom of this page.

Villa Estella has 3-bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, private pool for sole use of guests, patio and gardens, and panoramic views of the sea and mountains. And Wi-Fi. And, of course, hot and cold air-conditioning throughout, fly screens, satellite television and a fully fitted kitchen, including dishwasher and, for coffee lovers, a filter machine. Not to mention a continental barbecue.

Konia village itself is a step back in history with its many examples of stone-built Cypriot houses and its church. At the local bar frequented by the elders of the village, you can see men sitting outside playing backgammon, or tavli as it is known in Greek. On Sunday evenings, you may hear the village elder calling the residents to church with the traditional song: a combination of Greek and Middle Eastern music. At Easter (the date of the Greek Orthodox Easter doesn't always coincide with other Christian churchs' Easters) Konia holds a street party with traditional dancing, food and drink and, after Mass on Easter Sunday, the village sets fire to a huge bonfire with an effigy of Judas Iscariot on top, followed by fireworks (very reminiscent of Guy Fawkes Night only the weather is nicer!). From Villa Estella’s balcony, you will be able to see fireworks streaming through the sky from all over Paphos as well as -- as if by magic -- fireworks appearing from behind the mountains. A truly magnificent scene.

Villa Estella is within a 3-minute walk of a mini-market, a bank, the Konia Taverna, The Coffee Shop and village take-away, where you can eat in, have your food served at The Coffee Shop across the road or take it home for a quiet family meal round the pool, and there is a 24-hour kiosk within a two-minute drive that sells everything from a pint of milk to newspapers, fizzy drinks and charcoal.

Are you looking for a 2-family holiday?

Why not visit Villa Sofira.
